On the afternoon of November 11 , 30 members of French delegation that was accompanying Presidnet Hollande’s state visit to China made a visit to the COFTEC. Director Xu Qiang received the French guests and hold a talk with them, at which Director Xu introduced to the guests Chongqing’s development on open economy, emphasizing as an inland frontier city opening up to the outside world, Chongqing possesses a sophisticated platform for outbound economy featuring strong international competitiveness and sizable production scale in some industries such as automotive, rail transit, IT and communication and wind power equipment. Also, according to Xu, Chongqing’s service industry, FDI introducing and foreign trade has made a high score. Furtherly, Director Xu said Chongqing is open for the investment from France and is looking forward to more multi-level win-win co-operations between Chongqing and French enterprises in the fields such as industry, IT and service industry. After the talk, Chongqing’s achievement in recent years is deeply impressive by the French guests.  

The French delegation responded positively for the visit to the COFTEC, according to French Consulate General in Chengdu’s feedback, with some members of the delegation coming from French companies planning to revisit Chongqing recently. The delegation that visited the COFTEC was accompanying Hollande’s visit in China with Chongqing being its first stop. The members of the delegation include the heads of over 30 well-known Franc-based companies and institutions such as Suez Environment, PSA Peugeot, BNP Paribas, Carrefour, EDF, Faurecia, L'Oreal POMA, CNES, French Atomic Energy Agency and etc.
